Summer School on the Fundamentals of Neutron Scattering
NIST Center for Neutron Research
National Institute of Standards and Technology
Gaithersburg, MD 20899
May 10 - 14, 2010
The NIST/NSF Center for High Resolution Neutron Scattering (CHRNS) holds a week long course, most often in June, on the fundamentals of neutron scattering. These courses are aimed to draw new instrument and facility users to the NCNR. Hands-on training of individual instruments is emphasized where participants carry out experiments and analyze data.
The focus of the summer school alternates between two topics; "Methods and Applications of Neutron Spectroscopy" and "Neutron Small Angle Scattering (SANS) and Reflectometry (NR)". The SANS and NR school is held every even numbered year and the Spectroscopy course is offered every odd numbered year.
