Unusual Magnetism in Oxides
T. Venky Venkatesan (National University of Singapore)
Oxides seem to be a very interesting system to explore magnetic phenomena. I will illustrate with a variety of examples that we have studied recently.
1. Magnetism mediated by cationic defects in Ta-TiO2
2. Magnetism at the interfaces of Polar/ non-polar interfaces
3. A novel magnetic coupling mechanism across a polar insulator
