Density-dependent interactions, thermodynamics, structure and dynamic arrest in charged colloidal dispersions
Ramon Castaneda Priego (University of Guanajuato, Mexico, on sabbatical leave at U Delaware)
Charged colloids have been extensively used as model systems to study the static and dynamic properties of strongly interacting particles in both in- and out-of-equilibrium states. However, the full comprehension of the physical properties of charge-stabilized colloidal systems remains far from complete. In this talk, I will show my recent work on the effective interactions, thermodynamics, structural behavior and dynamic arrest of charged colloids. A full comparison of the theoretical predictions with light and neutron scattering experiments will be discussed in detail.
