CHRNS Summer Schools

The NIST/NSF Center for High Resolution Neutron Scattering (CHRNS) holds a week long course on neutron scattering each summer - usually in June. These courses are aimed at potential new users of the neutron instruments at the NCNR and emphasize hands-on training at the instruments where participants carry out experiments and analyze data.

In even-numbered years the school focuses on small angle neutron scattering and neutron reflectometry.

In odd-numbered years the school focuses on neutron spectroscopy.

Some financial support is available for university students and postdocs to attend these summer schools. This support is provided jointly by the NCNR and the National Science Foundation through CHRNS.
